Beat the Heat with a Summer Quilt-Along

I’m so excited to announce a summer quilt along featuring the quilt Potion from my book Quilt Traditions starting this Monday, July 10! Spend the next 4 weeks with Kim Jamieson-Hirst from Chatterbox Quilts and me escaping the heat and honing your piecing skills.   For a smoking price ($20 USD), you’ll get an epattern of…

Twenty-Five

This is the quilt Twenty-Five from my book.  I’m giving it an airing out – it’s been packed away since coming back from C&T for its photo shoot!

Finding this lovely robin’s egg the weekend of our daughter’s graduation made me smile – both aren’t quite ready to leave the nest just yet. We felt sorry for the egg, but we couldn’t find the nest. It also made me want to design something in robin’s egg blue :).

Thanks C&T Publishing! I’m thrilled to say that my second book Quilt Traditions releases June 1- please get it at your favorite shop, or Amazon if you don’t have a shop close by. And I tried my hand at You Tube this weekend for an interview with my friend Kim Jamieson-Hirst of Chatterbox Quilts for her You Tube…

Throughout, the photography highlighting Doughty’s adoptive home, Australia, was stunning, and so were the quilts! In her words, Kathy uses…

As Advertised…

Here’s a block from the new design – I had to search through a couple to find one worthy of its own photo, lol. Paper piecing is super accurate but we’re still dealing with human error and well, they aren’t all perfect – no matter – I love them anyway. I’m pleased with how the blocks are going…

From my sewing room this morning…

Hi all! First post, so be kind. I’m working on a great new design – stay tuned for more details. Later I’ll post a teaser pic of the block, and an easy lesson on paper piecing, the method I’ve used in this design. D
